Description:
Create the look of an enameled piece without the use of a kiln! This amazing technique uses colored pencil and permanent ink to color a copper surface. In this workshop you will learn how to prepare copper to accept hand-applied color for a permanent effect, and how to use metal stamps, fluid color and patina to design a beautiful pendant you can be proud of. Beginners welcome! No prior skills or experience is needed.

You WILL complete this project in class.

Kit: $25 – This cost is in addition to the class fee paid directly to the instructor in class

Kit includes: Prepared copper shapes, several grades of sand paper, turpentine, alcohol, liquid prep, jump rings, cotton, patina, all other supplies needed and written instructions. All tools needed to complete this project like hammers, pliers, etc.

Materials You are Required to Bring:
Students should bring one 12 pack of Prsimacolor premiere colored pencils (in tin only); no other colored pencils will work, or share the  teacher’s colored pencils with the group.

Description:

In this class you’ll learn how to measure for a perfectly fitted ring, add sterling silver wire and fine silver ball embellishments to enhance the crushed lab opal gemstone focal piece.  You’ll make a freeform wire bezel to encapsulate your choice of a wide variety of crushed opal.  Small butane torches will be used to solder all to a sterling silver band.  The ring design and choice of stones will make this a truly unique ring for each student to wear proudly!  Please  arrive early to choose your opal. 

Students must tie back long hair, wear closed toe shoes, and avoid wearing loose flowing clothing

Description:
Enjoy a bit of aromatherapy all day long by creating your very own lava rock diffuser stretch bracelets. Experience the restorative properties of lava rock, essential oils, crystals and stones. The porous qualities of lava beads allow them to absorb essential oils and act as a natural diffuser which will aid in soothing and rebalancing your physical, emotional, and spiritual state. Learn how to pair nature’s extraordinary healing gifts for optimal results. Make one bracelet, or a whole stack, for yourself or to give as unique gifts and leave with essential oil dropper bottles of your own blends for each bracelet. All levels welcome.

Skills and techniques taught: Pear shaped bezel, warped square with scalloped edge, odd count peyote

Description:
The Phoenix Pendant is an advanced beading project inspired by the techniques of Contemporary Geometric Beadwork. Students should have some experience with peyote stitch. The class will teach how to make peyote warped squares, scalloped edges, odd count turns and a pear shape bezel with a closed back. Instructions for a twisted herringbone chain are also included, although students may choose to use other chain designs. The pattern is written in step by step format, so the ability to read a peyote graph or word chart is not required.

You will NOT complete this project in class.

Skills and techniques taught: Learn how to use water color enamels and regular enamels. The temperature the kiln is set to flow the enamels, mix different colors and make different effects to your piece. Learn how to place your piece in the kiln and removing it from the kiln

Description:

Make a beautiful necklace pre enameled necklace made with Mason Stain, (black) with ready to use enameled on both sides of the copper. This is so you may start quickly to have time to concentrate on your piece. We will use beautiful enamel water color that is fine ground glass to fire in the kiln for an enamel, your very own original design. Make a design that you can follow step by step. It can be your original that will not be able to be reproduced. You will create an original!  We will start with pre enameled neck piece, or a necklace.

You can wear your design home and it can accessorize your favorite outfit. This will be a fun and relaxing class.

Kit includes:

Copper Piece enameled on the front and back (counter Enamel) of the piece, chain to finish your necklace to wear, 4 Jump rings to attach chain to copper backing and clasp and a clasp for closing the chain. Use of Enamel for your piece during class. Ideas for designs and Instructions for the class.

Everything needed to have a completed piece to wear home. Welding Gloves to protect your hands and arms, from the heat of the Kiln, firing fork, trivet, rack sifters, pliers, all enamels to complete project. Masks will be provided for the powders students will use when sifting the powders to protect from breathing in the dust. All tools and materials needed will be provided to share in class.

Materials You are Required to Bring:
For student safety, it is suggested to wear a natural fiber shirt with short sleeves, preferably cotton tee shirt. Avoid loose and flowing clothes. Tie back long hair, wear close toed shoes like tennis shoes.
