Skills and techniques taught: Powder coating, basic metal sawing and cutting, basic necklace and earring building.

Description:
Experience a new metal surface treatment in this crash course on powder coating for jewelry. Work with a variety of metals such as aluminum, bronze, copper, brass, titanium, and steel. Powder coating pigments are adhered through an electrostatic charge and then cured through baking. Students will cut and prep shapes for jewelry before coating with a number of color choices. The instructor will provide information on the process as well as tools and materials needed for powder coating. Time will be allotted for basic jewelry assembly.

All levels welcome.

You WILL complete this project in class.

Kit: $25 – This cost is in addition to the class fee paid directly to the instructor

Kit includes: 3×3 metal squares (4), metal blanks- asst. shapes (4) jump rings (10), nickel free 24″ chain, 1ft wire 20g, 1ft wire 26g, lobster claw clasps (2), assorted beads (20) Including all supplies needed to complete the project.

Description:

As artists we try to achieve color, unusual textures and patterns in our jewelry designs. You will learn how to make a gorgeous pendant with a faux reticulation technique. The hills, valleys and swirls achieved with this process reminds me of a fresh lava flow. Students marvel at the gorgeous, almost instantaneous results they get after trying it. Students will learn how to use silver scraps to make amazing texture and patterns on a copper base, add fantastic flame painted colors to their pendants, and how to make a soldered sterling silver bail using a small butane torch.  

You WILL complete this project in class.

Kit: $25.00 – This cost is in addition to the class fee paid directly to the instructor in class.
Kit includes: Silver scraps, silver wire, waxed cotton necklace cord, copper for pendant base. All tools required plus  silver solder, crock pot and pickle, soldering boards, butane torches, bench polisher, steel bench blocks.

Skills and techniques taught: Sweat Soldering. Cutting sterling sheet. Texturing. Forming. Use patina to accent texture. How to size the cuff to student’s wrist size. How to make decorative fine silver balls.     

Description:
Every now and then, you come across a piece of jewelry that is timeless and looks great with jeans to formal wear.  THIS cuff is destined to be one of those pieces!  
In this class, you will be adding to your beautiful jewelry collection and learning essential jewelry-making skills.  
Techniques you will learn: 
*texturing metal 
*soldering decorative wire to a base without using excess solder 
*forming your cuff on a mandrel 
*tumbling your cuff to a gleaming shine 
All tools and equipment will be provided for students’ use so there is nothing additional needed to bring to class! 

You WILL complete this project in class.

Kit: $40.00 – This cost is in addition to the class fee paid directly to the instructor in class
Kit includes: Sterling silver sheet and wire. Fine silver wire, Copper wire. 

Supplies Provided by Instructor: All tools required plus silver solder, crock pot and pickle, soldering boards, butane torches, bench polisher, steel bench blocks, bracelet mandrels. Texture sheets and texture equipment.

Skills Required:
Willingness to use a small butane torch. Steady hands
