Skills and techniques taught: Anodizing, metalworking, cold connections, fold forming

Description: A mandala created in wearable metal form will inspire you as you craft it and when you wear it. You can design your own mandala to saw out or use a provided design. Then cut, file, and sand the mandala to prepare it for anodizing. The backplate adds texture to your mandala and it’s color shows through your piercings. Texture around the edge and use our “painting with sandpaper” technique to accent your texture. Rivets will hold the bail and the two layers together. Then attach your chain and your magical niobium mandala is ready to wear any time your spirit needs a lift

You WILL complete this project in class.

Kit: $55 – This cost is in addition to the class fee and is paid directly to the instructor

Kit includes: 1 x 3″ 26 ga. unanodized niobium sheet, 6″ – 18 ga. unanodized niobium wire, 3″ – 16 ga. unanodized niobium wire, 3M sanding pad, 18″ aluminum chain.

Instructor Will Bring: Anodizers, mini grabbers, rivet hammers, texture hammers, pliers, wire cutters, bench blocks, metal shears, 1.5mm hole punch pliers, rawhide mallets, bail making pliers, fine point markers, 6″ rulers, sawframes and sawblades.

Technique: Cold Connections/Etching/Metalwork/Stamping.

Skills and techniques taught: Chemical etching, cold enameling, metal stamping, cold connections.

Description: In this informative class students will be creating a unique heart shaped brooch. Using several different metal working techniques students will learn the process of altering metal. Techniques covered will be, chemical etching, cold enameling, texturizing, stamping, and jewelry design. Students will also be taught several different cold connections. Each student will leave with a finished fashionable pin and a wealth of knowledge to use in future metal working.

You WILL complete this project in class.

Kit: $25.00 – This cost is in addition to the class fee and is paid directly to the instructor in class

Kit includes: Everything – All metal for project, etching solution, cold enameling products, use of tools for texturizing and stamping, all embellishment Findings. Skills Required: Finger dexterity, bring glasses if needed

Instructor Will Bring: All tools – Stamping tools, hammers, rivet setters, metal shears, _heat tools, bench blocks, protective surface

Materials You are Required to Bring:  Apron, lap towel, safety glasses, vinyl gloves. Basic jewelry tool kit if they have it, consisting of chain nose pliers, round nose pliers, flush cutter. Teacher will also have extras to share. .

Description: Create a niobium quilt block that you can make as a pin or a necklace. Foldform a square and anodize it. Prepare a frame with a niobium pinback or a hidden bail riveted on. You will anodize it and then rivet your quilt block to it. Add a chain and then it’s ready to wear

Description: Create this beautiful Tree pendant in copper using Roxan’s colored pencil technique. Students will learn
how to apply color to metal, to enhance the overall beautiful appearance, rivet, and set a cabochon. No prior experience needed.

Kit includes:
 Prepared copper, cabochon, rivets, jump ring, chain and all material needed to complete this project in class.

Skills and techniques taught: Anodizing, metalworkings, cold connections, creating findings from sheet & wire

Description: Cut, saw, file, and sand anodized niobium sheet. Make a combination hinge and bail from the niobium and rivet it to your niobium pieces. Hammer texture on the top pieces and punch decorative holes. Bath anodizing gives you a base color. Use our “painting with sandpaper” technique to give your textured piece visual excitement. Rivet your pieces all together. Cute wire dangles complete the look. Then attach your chain and wear.

You WILL complete this project in class.

Kit: $45 – This cost is in addition to the class fee and is paid directly to the instructor

Kit includes: 2 x 3″ 26 ga. unanodized niobium sheet, 6″ – 18 ga. unanodized niobium wire, 3″ – 16 ga. unanodized niobium wire,
12″ – 20 gauge niobium wire, 18″ aluminum chain, and a 3M sanding pad.

Skills Required: Basic experience with metalsmithing tools

Description: If you always wanted to work with metal but have been intimidated, this is an easy and fun class using an eye cabochon as a focal point. Learn how to rivet, use metal stamps, set a cabochon and patina copper. Choose from a variety of animal or human eyes to create a unique copper pendant.

You WILL complete this project in class.

Kit: $25 – This cost is in addition to the class fee and is paid directly to the instructor in class

Kit includes: All copper to complete this pendant, jump ring, eye cabochon, rivets, and cabochon cup.
