Skills and techniques taught: Powder coating, basic metal sawing and cutting, basic necklace and earring building.

Description:
Experience a new metal surface treatment in this crash course on powder coating for jewelry. Work with a variety of metals such as aluminum, bronze, copper, brass, titanium, and steel. Powder coating pigments are adhered through an electrostatic charge and then cured through baking. Students will cut and prep shapes for jewelry before coating with a number of color choices. The instructor will provide information on the process as well as tools and materials needed for powder coating. Time will be allotted for basic jewelry assembly.

All levels welcome.

You WILL complete this project in class.

Kit: $25 – This cost is in addition to the class fee paid directly to the instructor.
3x3 metal squares (4), metal blanks- asst. shapes (4) jump rings (10), nickel free 24″ chain, 1ft wire 20g, 1ft wire 26g
